Thanks for the reply. I really enjoyed this truck and I actually bought it because 16 years ago, my VERY FIRST vehicle was an 88 black SCSS, so a little nostalgia. It took me forever to find a Vortec SCSS 4x4, I actually had to drive 4 hours to San Francisco to get it, but was so happy I did...
Hello, please see the below link to my for sale ad. I am simply selling because I can afford a new truck. If you are seriously interested, you can email me at [email protected]

This last weekend I did my steering with a whole new gear box... This weekend I am going to try and seal the yoke hole as mentioned.
If any of you tranny guys have a pic I would appreciate it... If not I will take one.
Are bars all the same size on regular cab and extended cabs? Are they universal for 88-98 and on all makes (yukons, suburbans, etc)
Does anyone have a pic of 1500, 2500, and 3500 bars next to one another to see the difference?
It took me about 3 hours taking my time. That gear box is pretty heavy working by myself sucked...it would be easier with two people. I did not need to change my pitman arm because it was new. Here are some interesting things I did.
- I didn't have a wrench big enough to get the top gear box...
Today I was having an alignment done at Tires Plus her in Reno, NV...I got a call saying they wanted an hour of labor to align the rear. They said trucks with blocks cause them to not be correct. I don't know if it is true, but I said "no" since I want to upgrade to 3/4 ton leaf springs to...
Cool, that is good to know...they look really nice installed. Glad another member has had them on for a while.
Yeah, that is exactly what I thought. I figured even if the hardware and wiring was cheap the fans and brackets alone were worth that.
It was good find...taking craps and surfing...
You have a pretty good list of mods planned it seems like. After you get the efan in, you should do the BB tune...not sense in waiting for future mods since lifetime revisions are free. Plus, a tune will really wake the truck up, so you might be happy enough with the acceleration to skip out...
Hey Guys,
I came across a brand new efan kit on craiglist and ended up getting it for really cheap ($120). I wasnt able to find any threads on here of anyone who has used them, so I figured I would create one? If you have experience with these, what did you think?
I am hoping to have...
That's what was nice about lrodder.... The write ups usually were really good with all the right parts and tools. The 80 swap is something I have been considering. I have the original tranny with 35s and stock gears, so when it goes I will look into the 80.
Good luck
