    lifter tick solutions

When we bought our 99 suburban the owner had us meet him at a shop, it had the same tick, I listened to it and told the shop to tighten till it just quit, we bought it and never had a problem, but I did however replace the rocker nuts. Even in my 98 then stock rocker nuts became loose in one...

    lifter tick solutions

How about just adjusting the valves, I have seen many times where the rocker nuts would loosen, get new rocker nuts and adjust first, if you have problems with adjusting them then it's time to pull the intake. But word to the wise, always replace cam and lifters at same time, new lifters won't...

Fuel pressure check is easy, you can either rent an adapter or make one your self. If renting try to get the one that is just like a fuel filter works great

*new to site and starting a budget rebuild on my 99 k1500 burb* help please

For starters, vortec heads do not get torqued, they are set with a torque angle finder/meter, pain in the rear. You are gonna want to check your lifters, make sure you didn't compress and blow them. Also gonna want to check cam lobes for damage.

Oh the trouble with engine codes...

My bet would be coil and/or ignition module. My 93 did the same thing. Module was dead

    Starting problem

I would look at fuel pump, a lot of times when low on fuel and turning a corner the fuel level at the pump drops, if nothing else fill your tank

Just did intake manifold gasket...still losing coolant. Nooooooooooo!

Someotherguy is correct, it's a cooling system tester, goes on just like a rad cap. I don't run a thermostat in my 98, I bought it with 159,000 ,lies and immediately pulled it out, I live in kansas and pull a lot and use my truck in the winter to feed round bales. Heater works great, will even...

Just did intake manifold gasket...still losing coolant. Nooooooooooo!

More than likely just air working out, if you can get your hands on a vacuum pump you can pretty much pull all the air out. Have you watched your oil level? If you have a leak on the inside it will of course drain to the oil pan, oil floats on water.

    Another vortec intake problem

I would look towards valve guides and seals. I was having close to the same problem with my diesel haying tractor last year, new head 5 years ago. Diesel in the oil, valve guides looked as if they had 20,000 hrs on them. Compression check first then look into valves and guides

    Easy pitman removal

Rebuilt the front end of my 98 today. I have hydraulics running off power steering pump so removal of gear box is very time consuming. We hammered on the pitman to help un seat it, then tried a good hard long chisel. Not much luck. I then decided to drill 2 1/8th inch hole in the pitman towards...

    Problem help/suggestions

I also have a 98, about a month ago I had the gas smell, my tank had a small pin hole in the seam. Not hard at all to swap out. Also mine didn't leak until I hit the 345000 mile mark. Even after using it the last 8 years feeding round bales everyday in the winter
