I was thinking that too. Even with an 048 module, spark table mods can override what the ICM is doing.

Good point D1906c is listed as an acd professional part. That's the middle priced one. It has the highest part number also.

After doing more research, the AC Delco D1906C is a Professional 048 module. The D1934A is an OE 369 module. I returned the D1906C to RockAuto and picked up a D1934A from Amazon for $48 this morning.

I was doing some more reading in this post about spark latency - http://tunerpro.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8123&sid=04cf0238e68dec4960504c53be3540d6

It seems that there are different spark latency values between the 048 and 369 modules, and there is inherent spark latency at idle/low RPM's that aren't accounted for in most stock BIN's. When I get the new 369 ICM installed and if that the fixes my no-start issue, I'm going to try the values in this table and see what happens:

Here are pics of the D1943A module. No where on it is it marked with “369”, but in the post from Third Gen, the long GM part number for this module superseded the part number for the module that was stamped with “369”.

It runs well. Bad ICM was definitely the cause of no start. Seeing as how it failed so quickly (roughly 14 months) I’m ruling out heat, it has to be something electrical causing them to fail. My alternator has been another weak point I haven’t replaced yet. Hopefully it isn’t the voltage regulator sending spikes out through the circuit and frying it.

The “369” spark latency values seem to have helped also. It doesn’t feel like the power falls off at around 3000 RPM. It feels like it wants to keep pulling. I’ll road test it more this weekend heading out to deer camp. I may bring the laptop along and log some data too.
