to run the switched setup, you will need an additional high pressure pump, so its not very cost effective. the OEM 96+ dual tank setup uses a little inline lift pump that is low pressure and relatively cheap.
Wonder how a spare tank would fit on a suburban and how to plumb that? Might not be cost effective but depends on a person's uses and if they plan to be far from gas stations or extended drives where gas stations are farther apart.
@GarrettGmc you might see what GMT800 2500 burbs look like. I have not laid eyes on the underside of one, but apparently they had dual tanks that filled from a single fill point, and had the same auto transfer setup.
