Im doing a swap. I have a 90' Chevy truck with the 5.7 that came from the factory with the 700R4. I got a good deal on a 2001 5.7 LS1 out of a Corvette. I couldn't use the trans out of the Corvette so I want to bolt up a 4l80E in place of the 700R4. My question is... Does it matter what year or what vehicle the 4L80E comes out of to match the 2001 LS1. my biggest concern is I have Drive by Wire and I want to use as many wire connections as possible so I dont have to delete too many wires. If you guys can help me in this process it would be great. Thanks.

Thanks Big Kid. I left Speartech a message because I didn't see the harness I was looking for. I have the ECM and the complete harness that came with the Corvette. If the Corvette didn"t come with the 4L80E...what trans did it come with? 4L60E? If all I have to do is to re-pin at the ECM so the computer can read the new tranny that would be great. As a last resort I could use my 700R4 and remove the pins I dont need from the ECM, but I would like to upgrade to the newer trans if at all possible.

Corvette used the 4L60E or manual

Did your donor have auto or manual

If auto, Find the computer schematic pin out for both 4L60E and 4L80E and just swap the wires around and save the 175 bucks.

You would need a torque converter adapter and some way to control the TV cable if you reuse the 700R4
