Using a stock grille...no. The GMC emblem has a big plastic base that would have to be cut out.
In fact, I had to do this when I switched to a 1947 GMC emblem. A full cutout billet grille would work also.

I think you should go for it. Some people don't like my '47 emblem, but I can tell you I'm the only person in the world that has one on their truck.
