It's adjustable, but you have to have a scanner that will read that. It isn't a simple matter of using a timing light like the old daysI just put a new crate 5.7 in my 1997 GMC Yukon, replaced the crank shaft sensor and the distributor. It threw the P1345 code when I started it. When I put all the new parts in the engine was on TDC and lined up perfectly.
The truck starts and runs great. When I clear the code it comes back instantly. The distributor is not adjustable manually. Any thoughts?
1996 Chevy SRW c3500 7.4L Crew cab with 215,000 miles. Pulled P1345 code with scanner. No Check Engine Light. Truck runs fine. Starts fine cold but takes 6-10 seconds to start when hot and is off for more than 15 mins. Will start immediately after shut down or within 5-10 mins. Have no hesitation and no effect on gas milage. Idles fine. Had distributor replaced a few years ago due to rough idle and misfiring at high way speeds.
I have this same thing going on with my 7.4 and have changed the timing chain, sprocket, crank position sensor, crank position sensor harness, distributor, cap and rotor… I have going nuts trying to figure out what it is, if you’ve figured it out I would greatly appreciate any advice on the issue.
