So i've got a 1997 k1500 5.7l 4x4, i'm taking the auto out and putting in a gm3500-4.

i think i've got everything figured out except something should cover the bottom half of the flywheel,
i have been researching for a couple hours now and i cant find anything about an inspection cover, block plate, or oil pan.

Can someone here shed some light on what im missing here.

There's an inspection cover, kind of a stamped piece of sheetmetal, that gets sandwiched between the block and bellhousing. Kinda like this one:

it does sit between the block and bellhousing, so i will have clearance issues without it?.
