    Das ****** Schnitzel

Yeah I've heard the same, I think they call it 'snaps and pops' or something close. I'm waiting for the vid of the guy whose exhaust blows apart cuz of too much snap n pop action. As for the Jetta, 1.8T is better than 2.0T that came after, and it looks pretty decent too. We took in a 2004...

    C3500 Chassis cab rollback project

Hey all Been a while since I posted up here. Last time I had bought a 93 C3500 SRW truck that ended up being a great project although I ended up selling after I fixed all the little problems it seemed to have. Someone saw it and how clean it was inside and the under 100k miles and they had to...

Differences between K1500 with K3500 frame.

The odo says 211k and I didn't take note of the number of hours but I'll look at it tomorrow. I could go that route but it's a lot of work to handle something that big by one person...and usually it's just me. I'm not opposed to going that route, it just means there's a lot more unknowns and...

Differences between K1500 with K3500 frame.

Hey all My 94 K1500 6.5TD frame is rotting out and I have an opportunity to get a K3500 frame that's in decent shape. I understand there are some differences between the two in the front but I can't find a list of those beyond 1) upper control arms / bj's are different, mounting points for the...

    Drive shaft ujoint questions

Hey all, been a while... I don't see a specific section where this belongs...the sections here are kind of confusing IMO, there seems to be no place for people with stock trucks. Anyway, I'm having trouble locating correct part number info for new ujoints for the C3500 6.5TD truck so I'll drop...

    K2500 Suburban Rear Axle Replacement

Every two piece I've seen can only be joined one way and one way only. The union is keyed to only insert one way. The shop I've used can do multi piece drive shafts but they said they get better results by doing each section individually and then running the two together for a check. They're a...

    K2500 Suburban Rear Axle Replacement

Are you sure about that? The shop I use specifically said they balance the two independently when I took in Dakota driveshaft. Maybe this is just an anomaly where I live but I was under the impression that this was industry standard practice. Steve

    Truck Aerodynamics

Flexible cove base you say....hmmm, never thought about that but if I saw it out there I'd recognize it. Steve

    Truck Aerodynamics

That was my idea too, I have two in the basement now, one with and one without hooks, but I'm more inclined to go back and get another no hook spoiler at the JY and combine the two as mentioned. I honestly don't think it would look too bad, I've seen far worse on other vehicles, like plastic...

    Truck Aerodynamics

I'd have to agree with the others on this, the findings are inconsistent across models. My 94 K1500 has the hooks and lower valance (spoiler), the 93 C3500 has no hooks but I always assumed it had a spoiler originally even though it's gone now. These plastic spoilers just tend to get torn off...

    Truck Aerodynamics

I did a quick check and this is what trucknews says about it: "The answer, thanks to the highly respected testing of FPInnovations' Performance Innovation Transport (PIT), is that most do save fuel, though the savings vary. ... side skirts reduced fuel consumption by an average of 6.69%...

    Truck Aerodynamics

Isn't that air dam difference a 4x2 vs a 4x4 situation? I have never noticed a 4x4 without hooks, but TBH never really looked all that intently at it. I think with camper shells (toppers) that conform to the pickup cab you're better off, but for toppers that protrude out past (sides and top)...

    K2500 Suburban Rear Axle Replacement

Well that's unfortunate, however, if it fixed the wobbly right rear wheel problem then it did some good even if the vibration didn't end up being resolved or related. So have you had your tires balanced recently to make sure it's not related to tires? Before proceeding you need to determine if...

How to MarkVIII your OBS on a budget..!

Also, would like to hear from anyone whose done the Tahoe fan instead of the Mk VIII fan and whether that's been a good choice or not. It's a lot easier for me to find a Tahoe fan assembly rather than try and find a Mk VIII fan. Thanks Steve

How to MarkVIII your OBS on a budget..!

I read through 9 pages looking for someone with a 6.5 diesel who had installed one, if it was there I missed it. Anyone know someone with a turbo diesel that's done it? I kinda don't get along with the clutch fan so much and I'd like to know if anyone with a diesel successfully converted...and...
