    Alternator bad...new starter

With the double crimp it is very hard to get the 2nd smaller crimp open, that's the problem. I'm going to go to the a couple of electrical warehouses in the next few days.

    Alternator bad...new starter

Truck is fixed now. Still need that connected. I rigged it to work. Does anyone know of a site where oem connectors are sold or a workaround to that connector? It goes on the firewall, closest to the firewall.

    Alternator bad...new starter

Anyone ever see this type of electrical connector? It is the one that the wire is broken. Know of what I can use as a substitute?

    Alternator bad...new starter

Wasn't the battery, broken wire which looks like it was pieced back together before. But I did get a bigger battery when I went today.

    Alternator bad...new starter

I have figured out why this truck won't start. I had a "newer" 98 GMC along with this truck for 9 years, barely drove this truck, the Pull-a-Part batteries lasted about 2-3 years. I sold the 98 about 3 weeks ago (I would not have bought the truck myself, it looked pretty bad but drove well)...

    Alternator bad...new starter

I too am starting to think it is the battery too! The starter is good, attached it to another battery and jumped it across, the starter ran. The battery is the only other difference from when it was clicking. I get my batteries for this truck from Pull-A-Part, when the starter started clicking I...

    Alternator bad...new starter

Thanks. I have no idea about the ignition switch, it hasn't been moved or changed. The truck would start before the clicking. It would click occasionally but, not like it did last week when it just started to just click, click, click, click, click,click........

    Alternator bad...new starter

Starter stopped starting this veh, 1984 Chevy 3/4 ton(basic), it just started clicking, clicking, clicking!! So I replaced the starter, Napa starter. As I was replacing I notice and replaced the connectors on the two 10 gauge wires, which from the starter go to the alternator. Had to splice...

    Transmission or spark plugs

Since I got the SES flashing solved and the multiple misfires on cyl 4 & 8 solved a new problem has cropped up. When driving the engine will like lurch or stumble. I'm thinking is the transmission or the spark plugs. It did it several times on the expressway today so that's why I think it is...

Map Sensor or not? TIGHT budget

This is what it looked like when I took the plenum off again. That regard gasket around the fuel body had broke and was letting in a lot of air. Replaced last night, drove today and it was fine.

Map Sensor or not? TIGHT budget

I think I have it figured out....it is not the intake gaskets, I think it is the gasket around the spider. I remember the 3rd time I took the plenum off it was really loose. Going to get a new gasket for it now.

Map Sensor or not? TIGHT budget

Did that, NO vacuum. But seems to be running better. Funny thing, I noticed that my fuel gauge needle was really shakey/fluttering quite a bit. I have never seen it do that. So MAP bad? Will take battery cable off to reset codes.

Map Sensor or not? TIGHT budget

Stupid question here but how can I tell if there is no vacuum present? Not to question your knowledge, I have a couple of other questions: Also, if this is the case wouldn't I still have antifreeze leaking? This code only came up after I took the plenum off the 2nd time; I didn't take...

Map Sensor or not? TIGHT budget

98 GMC Sierra, 2wd 5.7 Did intake manifold gasket replacement. Had multiple misfires 4 & 8cyl. Took plenum off removed spider, removed each injector individually cleaned & put back in same spot. Put spider /injectors back in. More problems, rough idle, acceleration hesitation at start up from...
