The Raptor is a great truck....I like it, if I lived near the desert, Id be all over it. Around here, its mountains, rocks, ruts, roots.....no high speed crap to take advantage of it. I like low gears, lockers and armor.
The hell with the Raptor, I think more try to compete with the Dodge Power Wagon, winch, 2 lockers, skidplates.....theres no sand dunes around here, a Raptor is useless.
IFS is great if you never touch an unpaved road, rough roads, heavy loads. If I didnt need a 4x4 truck to pull my trailer into the mountains and haul heavy things, Id drive a Golf TDi and get 5x the mileage.
This is true for the metrosexual, urban cowboy types that never use their truck as a truck but want to look cool in their to their neighbors. With a solid front axle, you can use locking hubs to improve fuel economy, decrease wear and tear and have a bulletproof front end you will never have to...
Nice truck....I still cant believe for $1000.....around here you would be lucky to find a high mileage absolute rust bucket for $1000, not a dually either, you would be lucky if it was running. Thats an awesome deal.
Hey man, just saw this thread on here. I love your truck, it is so clean and well done. I think it sits perfectly as it is, the wheels and tires really complement the look. I thought the tows looked great on it.....
