    Non-slip yoke

Alright, after some more cleaning and regreasing I was finally able to tap it on with a 3lb hammer and a block of wood. Slides much easier now that it’s past the first inch. Now to hopefully finish buttoning this truck up. Thanks guys

    Non-slip yoke

This is what I was thinking of next too, thanks. Gonna see if I can polish it up well enough and maybe even soak it in evaporust in a bag. Will update with results

    Non-slip yoke

Seal is fine it doesn’t even get that far right now, but it definitely looks like it’d fit fine in there.

    Non-slip yoke

Unfortunately I’m the guy who needs to get jacked up. Figured it’d be fine to run after scrubbing. Probably gonna end up paying for that mistake

    Non-slip yoke

It seeks like much of the corrosion is on the transfercase output shaft. I’ve scrubbed the slip yoke pretty well and it looks good so it must not be that. Wondering if it slipping while the shaft moves back and forth when driving would just bust the surface corrosion. Getting this slip yoke on...

    Non-slip yoke

Got busy over the week and just now had a chance to get back at it. I measured the ID of the slip yoke and the OD of the output shaft and they look fine. I’m looking now and I see the output shaft has some surface corrosion. No way to scrub that off since the case is mounted on the truck. The...

    Non-slip yoke

The slip yoke has the missing spline, but the tcase output shaft is symmetrical all around.

    Non-slip yoke

I cleaned it out already and still no luck unfortunately

    Non-slip yoke

Alright so I put in a rebuilt NP241C in my 1990 K1500 and for whatever reason the slip yoke will not slip onto the rear output shaft. They are both 32 spline male and female (not aure if there were ever any that weren’t, but putting it out there just in case). The slip yoke looks fine, but has...

    Gouges in axle housing

The truck is on 35s, but it is a fully stock 350 tbi and I only really need to tow my nova once in a blue moon. I’ll keep an eye out, thanks.

    Gouges in axle housing

Okay that is what I was wondering. Just don’t want to eat my bearings if I can avoid it. Thanks

    Gouges in axle housing

The gouges aren’t in the bearing it is where the bearing sits.

    Gouges in axle housing

Bearing was siezed inside and puller just broke them apart. I dremeled a groove hoping to be able to relieve some pressure and crack the bearing race in half. The transition from grounded down bearing to grounded out housing is seamless so I had dug in too deep. I did this not once, but twice...

    Parking brake cable help

Usually I do look up my own stuff. This time I did not and well… lesson learned. At least it wasn’t a big deal and cables are easy to swap out.
