92 Yukon 4x4: How do you pull the Pitman arm off?

I need to replace the pitman arm, but there isn't room to get the puller in there, even if I take the sway bar off, the end you are supposed to screw in to pull the pitman off the splines won't clear the frame since the frame is only a couple inches below the pitman arm. Do you have to pull...

4x4 Front end problems - OBS

After I posted this I could see that the pass front wheel was c o c ked inward while the drivers side was straight. Jacked it up and looked under and have a bent inner tie rod. I am not noticing any other real play in the front end other than that same side probably needs a wheel bearing. Has a...

4x4 Front end problems - OBS

4x4 Front end problems - OBS '92 Yukon 2D 4x4. 6" Pro-Comp lift, 35's, 4.10's front and rear. Ok the kids were out of school (for the last 10 days because of 2 blizzards here in OK). I took off work yesterday to do some late season deer scouting for next year and took them with me. We...

    4WD not working - Help!

Turned out to be the ball-switch on the transfer case. 3 days of wrenching in the snow and a $6 part fixed it. That never happens to me, it's always the $700 part.

    4WD not working - Help!

I have 4.8v at the actuator. So does that mean there's not an open short right? But maybe some other component in front of it that is bad? I got zero voltage at the other connector which I think is a fluid pressure switch on top of the diff? There are only two wires going into the connector...

    I really need one.

    4WD not working - Help!

Anyone have a wiring diagram for the 4WD system? I saw on another post there is a fluid pressure switch on top of the diff that power has to go through first. I'm going to go out and see if I get 12v at its connector. I just can't tell where the wiring goes. It looks like it runs from the...

    4WD not working - Help!

Its not that, there's no wires hooked up to the 'tran' slot. I did find a 25A fuse in the 4WD slot and it was good. SO where does the wire from the actuator run to? It appears to go to the speed sensor or whatever it is on the rear of the transfer case?

    4WD not working - Help!

I think the thermal fuse was a thread on an older truck. I pulled the actuator, no movement, but no 12v either. Found an empty spot in the fuse panel marked 'tran'. I'm going to put a fuse in it and see what happens. My fear is that the previous owner put a TrueTrac and 4.10's in the back and...

    4WD not working - Help!

Fantastic! That's the info I was looking for. No the front axle part of the display has never lit up. I checked all of the fuses in the dash panel less than a month ago. Have had to fix many small issues on this truck so I was looking for other things when I checked them all. I've heard...

    4WD not working - Help!

I have a 1992 Yukon 2DR 4x4. I've only had it a couple of months. I *thought* the 4WD worked, but today when we got a record snow fall I found out that it doesn't. The front wheels don't pull at all. The front driveshaft is spinning. What do I check and where do I start? I think there is...

Outside rearview mirrors, need some wiring help

At some point one of the previous owners pulled the connector off of the mirrors. All of the wires are there, with the terminal ends, just no plastic connector for them to snap into. The door harness has the connector for its side. So I need to know what color wire in the door harness (to the...
