    4x4 Won't Disengage from 4hi to 2hi while driving.

yeah that hum is from excessive backlash usually caused by the front diff bearing adjuster lock tabs loosening and letting the adjuster back out, or front the carrier bearings themselves wearing and making noise, if the front diff is loose from too much play, backlash or whatever that could...

1998 Crew Cab SB SAS 4L80E issues

the 1345 code is a camshaft sensor to crankshaft sensor correlation code meaning that the base timing on the engine is off, needs to be at o deg tdc + or - 1 deg, you need a scan tool to look at the cmp offset and set it at 0, check all the fuses for the cam and crank sensors, and check the...

    4x4 wont lock in :/

"If ya want 2 lo you switch from 2 hi to where 4 lo "technically" is but dont lock the front end in" but when you place the t-case in 4-lo the left front axle will still spin and the driveshaft will still be giving power to the front diff through the pinion, so won't it technically still be...

    4x4 Won't Disengage from 4hi to 2hi while driving.

Does the front diff make any unusual noises going down the road in 2 or 4wd, or while engaging/disengaging?

    Ouput shaft leaking

as far as the rear seal leaking sometimes the t-case bushing wears on the slip yoke and fluid leaks from there, it will look like the seal but if you change it and it leaks again then you probably need a new bushing/slip yoke, front output shaft seal leaks are common when dirt walks its way into...

    4x4 wont lock in :/

just curious, how can changing the actuator in the front diff give you a low range(2wd lo) in the transfer case?

    4x4 Won't Disengage from 4hi to 2hi while driving.

just a thought but have you checked the fluid in the front diff, if theres excessive metal in it, you mave have too much play, under normal conditions you should have to let off the throttle just a little so that the gear will disengage the right axle shaft

I have never seen PWM on an 4l60 that wasnt the new 96 year modular design ( the new 3 piece case), and what is the difference with 95 they use the same pcm and OBD1 diagnostics as in the 93 and 94, the only thing that is different is the mem cal?

    4l80e question

Look anyone can break a transmission if they try hard enough even "bulletproof" transmissions are not idiot proof, if you built your transmission and knew what you were doing without any abuse (ie neutral drops) you should be fine, 4l60's cant take the abuse of of 4l80's as far as load and...

    do 4l60s have traction control?

If its old body style 99 no it shouldn't have traction control, 99 and up new body style will have traction control if there is a switch in the dash just to the left above the headlight switch.
