Not trying to deter you, but you can't raise the legal towing limit by throwing a bigger motor in. You'll be able to tow the max load easier, though :)
The warranty is less on these. I think I'm going this route on my Blazer as well. Warranty or not, having a shop do this is too much money. Enough that the whole thing can be swapped out several times for less money.
Oh, sorry. The mount is specific to GMT400's; you have to remove the lower bezel and it attaches to some existing bolts. I'm using it for a generic purpose.
Yeah, I like to be able to turn mine on while going down the road to keep an eye on what's happening back there. Some cars like to get so close that I can't see them.

The shop called and they couldn't determine what the cause was. They are chalking it up to poor seals from the factory. Yay, I guess. I hope it doesn't happen again in another 11k miles.
I took the Yukon in to have both front axle seals changed again, after 11k miles. The shop said it is extremely rare for OEM seals to fail that quick. They suspect something else is happening, maybe a vibration in the front end or something similar. They did say my rotors are out-of-spec...
