Haha I appreciate it. I wasn't too thrilled about painting on bed liner or something of the sort but couldn't think of another choice
Hindsight 20/20 but I can't believe I didn't think of bed rail covers
Finally got the toolbox from the shipping company today. I freaking love the thing, but my only complaint would be that my two window stickers are not only half visible haha
The paint peeling issue is now a thing of the past
Put these dee zee bed rail covers on yesterday. Gonna put a tailgate cover on in the next few days (also gonna be black diamond plated)
Still waiting on my toolbox to come in
I'm definitely not spraying anything haha, way too much effort considering I'm doing this myself along with a million other things I gotta do with my truck in a fairly short timespan. I'll just paint it if anything
Been a long time updating this so here goes a bunch of things that I can think of:
A while back I finally took the running boards off my truck. Thankfully all the paint under it was good and the truck looks quite a bit better now in my opinion.
Here's how it looks without the running boards...
Got 12 MPG my last tank... Mostly city driving with a little highway. Did a full tune up on the truck since then so I'm curious what I'll get next fill up
I'll agree on putting it in third. It's best to do that anytime you're on hills though (I do it when driving through hills without a trailer). The trans gets hot when it's constantly shifting from OD and down again going through hills, which is what messes it up.
To answer your actual question...
Sadly, I'm one of few people who owns one of these trucks who could sell it for more than they paid for it. It sucks putting money in a truck and then not getting it back when you sell it, but that's the way it is with cars/trucks.
Due to this, my advice is don't sell it because you will regret...
It's been said already, but you gotta keep in mind that, while you'll be able to haul more, you still can't LEGALLY haul more.
rebuilding the 4l80e is probably the best bet as well
