I have a 1990 gmc 350 700r4 the truck dies every time I put it in gear reverse drive overdrive 1st second I can get it moving if I load up on the throttle. Timing may be off? Any ideas?

I'm running 34's on a four inch lift on my 1990 regular cab only time I rubbed was turning in reverse cranked the torsion bars up a 1/4 inch no more rubbing. width and wheel offset that can cause rub also
I have the chance to buy the newer style dash for $50 to swap it into my 1990 k1500. How hard is it? Do I need to ditch my door panels? If so wich ones work? What about the wiring? Thank you
