Damn NorCalMike, you must drive those really hard. Are those stock rebuilds or did you beef them up?

My red truck's 4L60E let go around 140K. Had it built it back up with some nice new internals (thanks Rhino) and it's got about 10K on it right now.

Suburban's is still going strong with about 165K, no slipping or other weirdness.

201,000 miles. When I bought it (with 197,000 miles) it would lose OD on drives over 30-40 miles long. Kept getting worse. I dropped the pan and installed new filter and replaced the fluid, a couple days after that, lost second gear. Took it to a trans shop and they found broken hard parts inside (sunshell IIRC?) Got the whole things rebuilt for right around $2000.

179k on 97 K1500. Would bang into second and had a tranny component slipping code. Lost 3rd but still had 4th. I split my Input drum in half. Had it rebuilt with stage 2 3-4 clutches Transgo shift kit drilled valve body upgraded drum corvette servo. And hardened sunshell. Has 500 miles on it we will see how long it lasts!

On my 2006 TrailBlazer with a I6 4.2L, it's still going with original at 109,000 miles. Flushed it at 100,000 and mechanic said it looked pretty dang good. Bought it with 85,000 miles in 2011.

My 1997 K1500 with 5.7L seems to be going well with it....believe it's original but not sure at 149,000 miles....bought it a year ago though and had the tranny flushed with roughly 146,000 miles on it. You can disregard this part of my post if you want since I'm not sure this is original tranny on the K1500.

Now, on my mother's 1998 S10 Blazer, it was purchased by my parents in 2002 with around 60 or 70,000 miles and they had to do a rebuild on it before it hit 100,000 back in 2005 or so. I was pretty young yet and don't remember a lot of details about it. Suspect though, in regular fashion, the tranny fluid and everything else was not checked regularly.

I work them hard. I doubt it was bad rebuilds, only 2 of them came from the same place, and 2 of them were direct replacements from gm. Most of the failures were hard parts. Sun shells, planetary gear sets, couple of output shafts. I hate 4l60e transmissions, 4l80e ftw.
