Got the intake gaskets done. Really easy, just lots of unbolting/bolting back together. Thermostat also quit on me and heater hose started leaking, and the o-ring for the injector spider went so I had to go back and replace those today, but no big deal.

Working good now.

There's a lot of small parts to keep track of but if you have any common sense it isn't a difficult job, just time consuming. Ignore the vice grips...temp solution to hold down the breather where the clip broke off. What a horrible design.

Lotsa fun eh. I probably only drove mine for half an hour after they blew, to get me home. Still went through a pile of coolant though!

Mine ate 1 gallon before i noticed then another gallon on the way home.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate the encouragement. Sometimes I get out and am depressed at how junked certain parts of it are, but if I compare it to these pics, I don't feel as bad:

Hey, Always remember: It's not what you buy, But what you build that counts!

That truck look like it has come a long way and is really taking shape. Nice Job!

Well, dunno what to do with the truck. Was making some front end noise so I jacked it up and checked it out:

Both wheel bearings are shot.
Shocks are completely shot (I pretty well knew this anyways).
At least a driver's inner and passenger outer tie rod end, might as well replace all of them.
Pitman and Idler arm have some play.
Sway bar links broke.
Needs rotors.

At least the ball joints are tight...

All told I'm looking at 800 ish for the parts (el-cheapo white box crap). Fix it, or get another truck for now...?

What, not enough spare parts to fix it from other trucks laying around?

If it was ME, I would sell a couple trucks and buy one nice GMT400. I've dealt with a few problem trucks, spent more on a nicer truck and have been very happy that I did.
