For the hell of it today I put my truck on CL. I wasn't thinking that anyone would actually respond. Well, less than 10 minutes after I posted it, someone called me and wanted to come look at it today. I told him that I wasn't around, and he could Monday. About 2 hours later someone else called and wants to look too. As soon as that happened I thought, $HIT, I priced it too low!!! :nono:

I also called the dealer where the truck is and talked to a salesman. Of course they are asking me "when I'm going to come look at it"? I told them I'd have to think about it before driving 90 miles just to take a look. What's your guys opinions on appraisal websites. Why is there such a disparity between them. Here's the prices I got from 3 sites. For the sake of argument, I've chosen the condition as "outstanding" or "excellent".

KBB = $11,660
NADA = $9,687
Edmunds = $7,500

So...I'm thinking it's somewhere in between NADA and Edmunds. If I could get it for $8,000 out the door, I'd think I'm doing pretty good.

NADA is what dealers around here use. KBB is overblown crap. But print that sh*t for your truck when people come look at it.

:bowroflwerd6: I don't use that $hit when I'm buying, but sure as hell do when I'm selling! BTW, I've got it priced @ $5,500 and $6,000 w/ the 14 bolt and Cepek's.

Yeah you need to be asking more. That truck is clean! I got 6400 for my 98 that was 100% stock with a lot of new parts, but only 117k miles.

I was thinking that until I saw NADA retail, which is $6,300. A lot of what I've done isn't going to necessarily add value, unless it's the right person. Some people think they get all the money the put into it back, which just isn't the case most of the time.

I agree. Of course the woman I talked to said, "well...it's priced well below KBB". I told her KBB is a worthless POS website (exact words).

lmao i agree i hate when people put KBB values in their craigslist ads
