I bought this as a default. Spring of '14 I retired my trusty '92 K3500 SRW and was getting by with my '85 Jimmy and '72 K2500. Winter (salt) was coming and I wasn't finding the pickup I was hoping for. This is my work truck (carpenter) and the suburban fit my needs. Low miles, no rust, 8-lugger that can haul and tow. I bought it in Marietta, GA from the Cobb Co. gov't. It was a sheriff dept. k-9 unit. Base trim Cheyenne for gov't purchase. Notice no roof rack. 350/4L80E/4.10 w/hydroboost brakes, posi, and a/c... simple.

First two pictures are the day I bought it in GA. All I did was privacy tint, dual exhaust, crank up torsion bars, and swap the 255/85-16 Coopers on from my old '92

I bought it in Dec '14, so going on 8 years as my daily driver/work truck. It's been very good to me, been a lot of places with it. I work and play out of it. I have a twin size air mattress that fits nicely in there for camping out. Most of the time it's full of tools and working for me

Glad to see you over here on this site! Lots of good info. I don't spend as much time on 67-72 anymore.

No idea how I missed this! I've got pics of this thing saved on my computer! I loved browsing everything you had on 67-72; your trucks have given me so much motivation for both of mine!
Not to mention the influence of wanting a tailgate/hatch burb over a barn door Suburban

I guess I faded away for a while. Thanks for the kind words. I joined here since I'm a dedicated GMT400 fan, yet not so strong on all things service with these "newish for me" GMs. They were designed and built so well, I drove them for decades without learning much about them. They just ran and everything worked.

In case anyone is interested, the tires are 285/75-16 BFG A/Ts mounted on Ford/Accuride 16 x 7s. The torsion bars are cranked a bit and nothing on the rear done. I was taking pictures of a building I saved and the 'Burb snuck in on me

Cool shot, those square body caps look sharp on there!
