I wonder if it's even in the possession of the person posting the auction. Those few pictures look more like what would be taken by someone walking by during a car show, rather than sale pictures. Could be just internet pictures being used in a scam.
You never know these days man. I'd be hard pressed to buy anything other than cash and carry.

No telling, in today's world where "Texas" used car dealerships are selling bogus temporary tags for a C note or less on farcebook. I used to see them on 5miles too, maybe they cracked down on them.

Thanks for all the responses guys.
I was a passenger in a 1963 Comet Caliente hardtop rollover in my youth. No one killed but two of the guys in the front got scalped when the windshield folded down to the doors, so I totally get the role that the HSS plays in the pillers.
I think I'll let the thought of chopping the top go right out of my head.

Our previous race car hit the wall at MSR Houston and destroyed the front suspension. Afterwards I went to cut the cage out of the car, and the main hoop was welded on a plinth at the B-pillar. BMW welded together 7 sheets of steel at that point. It was strong-like-bull. I couldn't cut it apart. I used a sawzall, a half dozen deathwheels, a plasma cutter, and a torch. I just couldn't get through enough layers to get the underlying layers. I ended up cutting the cage tubing and we built taller plinths in the new car. If the factory A-pillar in our trucks is made from several sheets of steel folded over and welded to the roof in layers, I'd definitely want to duplicate that in the chop.

Maybe slice the pillar right at the top, cut back the layers a little bit, then weld in new layering, spread onto the roof?
