Needed tires bad for the winter. 40k+ on swampers = drag tires. New winter tires, 35x12.5 with no lift.

Stock height plus 35x12.5x16s vs stock height and 265/75/16s. Just a little taller.

My bumper was already chopped an inch from the wheel well forward. Also I removed the filler plastic under the grill and moved the bumper up an inch for 33s. I pie cut approx 1 1/2" inches from the back of the front fender and rewelded it. Other than that, no crank and no mods to the rear to fit 35s. Low and stuffed!

Paint before winter causes the rust to consume my truck...AGAIN lol. Debating so I come to you guys.

Options...

#1 - Satin Black with bedlined rockers. As is now but real paint instead of just primer.

#2 - Satin Charcoal gray with black bedlined rockers.

#3 - Same as #2 with Satin black hood, roof and tailgate.

#4 - Your ideas. Keep it flat/satin and dark lol.

Update because I feel lame for not having much serious progress. As I'm sure you guys read my thread, I wheeled my truck at Rausch Creek a month ago. She did surprisingly well but didn't escape without some new "character." Dented both rockers, shoved my bumper up into the front of my drivers side fender, dented the drivers side of my box in 3 places, bent my trans and LCA crossmember, and my exhaust crossover pipe. While I was in AZ for new years co-piloting for my buddy in a desert race, my ol man decided to surprise me and began body work and paint but left some of my trail damage for badges of honor:evillol: The verdict is all satin black, black bedlined rockers and bumpers with a gloss black and DOT Orange pinstripe down the side.

Well I was getting some serious wheel hop out of the rear end after wheeling. So I visited the junkyard yesterday, picked up a driveshaft and a 14b pinon yoke. Replaced them and all my U-Joints and bam, the truck tolerable to drive on the highway. While I was at the junkyard I snagged a factory AUX battery tray so I can finish my dual battery set up and install my 12K winch finally and the got the find of the century up here in the rust capital of America! After 2 years of searching (cause $300 is ludacris from LMC) I snagged complete factory 1988 Dual sealed beam headlights free of rust for $20!

Pics in the AM.

On a bad note, someone must have tried to steal the Cat Converter out of my truck last night while I was working:flame:The cat and my Flow 40 are still there thankfully but the rest of the pipe behind my Y pipe is destroyed. Must be they couldn't break my welds. So for now she's running just headers and the Y pipe. Talk about loud and obnoxious.

Yea bout that....

24 years of life in NY took their toll. Truck is off the road and not in a good way. All the crossmembers from the Trans x-member back are rotted completely through on both sides of the frame so they are just resting in the C channel causing all sorts of frame twist, the gas tank to drop out, etc. In addition, all but 2 body mounts are completely rotted through and there isn't much of anything left to weld to to get by. The vibration from the swampers as well as offroading must have broke apart the last bit of what looked like solid steel holding everything together. I'm back to my 99' Sub. Financially I can't afford to do the swap right now so I've been putting in an average right around 130hrs a week between my 2 ambulance jobs trying to scrape together a large sum of money in a hurry. Haven't seen my apt in 3 weeks. So till my government savings account (AKA tax return) comes in and my hours pay off she's on life support till I can do the frame swap in its entirety:whymewhyme:

Before the frame crumbled I did do some work to it in the form of sealed beams, turn signals, NOS grille, wiring for the 12k winch and a dual battery set up with an isolator.

Sorry guys. I feel like I'm letting down the OBS preservation society. No worries though, the truck will leave my possession after they pry the title and keys from my cold, dead hands. Its just gonna be a while before you guys see any progress.
