Bear in mind that my aux fan mounted directly to the AC rad and East 302's piece refers to the fan being triggered by either or engine or AC temps.
If that is normally where a trans cooler would be (with AC present) then there's be three rads one behind then other behind the other. Is passenger side fitment of trans cooler only with no AC? I'm guessing (by what's been said) that my trans cooler isn't one GM made or specified. Odd to take it to the opposite side from where the pipes exit and enter the trans but that would be true also of the AC rad if it were driver side - given where its plumbing passes through the bulkhead into the cabin.
Transmission cooler was RPO code KNP, it would be on the glovebox label if originally equipped. The cooler was on the passenger side for the 350 and 6.5 diesels and toward the driver side on the 454.
Factory location was in front of the condenser, regardless. Best guess is that the auxiliary engine cooler precluded the use of the transmission cooler, but the parts diagrams that I find do not mention this exclusion when referencing the transmission cooler.
