Relocating HVAC

So id like to relocate my hvac controls to make room for a double din. I know a lot of people have been putting them in the glove box but thats just not convenient at all, plus ive got leds in mine and they match the rest of the truck(id like to have them seen). I was thinking about putting them in my flip down ash tray assembly or in the cd holder of the center console..any opinion on this anyone try it before?

I would not suggest the ashtray. I tried to move mine to the ashtray and could not figure out a way around the metal bar that runs across the dash behind the dashboard. And you would have to extend your wiring. Easiest would be in the cd holder area. The size and shape of the area is nearly exact and the wires are long enough, you won't have to extend them.

I'm putting mine in a custom center console. Let us know how yours goes.

I am building mine to look just like that one. We will see how it comes out.

I have a newer dash that I plan on swaping into my truck but my plans are to keep the 88-94 ac controls and hide them in the center console and mold in a 10 inch LCD in that opening
