    Tow ratings question on 1500-2500

I tow thing i shouldn't with my 96-6 lug all the time. It is definitely do able if you want to pay the price for parts failure. Glazing the brakes, collapsed lifters, rebuilding the rear end, rebuild the transfer case, amazingly the 4l60e don't care. Stopping and hills take more attention and...

    Engine swap question

Swap the engine/ transmission exhaust, wiring harness, inner fenders as all this is the easy part. Then you have to make the decision on just how far down the rabbit hole you want to go.... you can do a stand alone so you don't have to repin a lot of wires at the convince center(fuse block at...

Had the problem as well, forgot to connect that little wire at the starter when I put a new one in, so trace it and make sure it is unbroken.

Pictures of the dash wiring routes? 97, 3500, 7.4

Seems the 3d wiring/routing diagrams start about page 769 and are very helpful when trying to figure out the difference in wiring harness related to different available options. I just had to dive in and read everything I could because I like reading manuals to learn new stuff. But its all...

Pictures of the dash wiring routes? 97, 3500, 7.4

Just purchased a truck without a dash installed and no dash harness. I purchased a new harness, now I would like to see how it is routed behind the dash so I can get it done in one shot.

    1995/96 dash in a 1998.

Yes it will fit. Just make sure you get all the dash pieces. All obs dashes will fit with little or no modification, but what is interesting is a 2014 dash will fit too, with a few modifications ofcourse.

    1994_3500_6.5 died, swaping in a 1996_3500_7.4...wiring questions...

The only transmission issue was I have an under warranty 94 4l80e I would like to use if possible, but the 96 4l80e seems fine, yet I know the 94 trans is built. But will use the 96 for simplicity.

    1994_3500_6.5 died, swaping in a 1996_3500_7.4...wiring questions...

The exhaust from the gas truck has no cats, but it doesn't have a metered cat anyhow, I knew I would have to swap fuel tanks and lines so it will have factory evap. I was thinking about getting headers and a cam/ injectors while it is out. But that only works if I do the holly wiring and ecu...

    1994_3500_6.5 died, swaping in a 1996_3500_7.4...wiring questions...

My thought on how to start now that I know a little more. Take the entire wiring harness off the 96 front to back. Swap the 96 engine, transmission and the inner fenders so everything bolts up and looks factory. Get an aftermarket cluster and splice/solder the rest of the plugs and controls or...

    1994_3500_6.5 died, swaping in a 1996_3500_7.4...wiring questions...

The 7.4_96 runs and drives so the transmission is good, its just that the warranty isn't even expired on the rebuilt 94 transmission. I'm guessing there is no stand alone harness for the 7.4? I thought I read you can get a holly cpu with a stand alone harness for the 7.4. I'am not able to...
