    pitman arm/ idler arm

I have a 2000 K2500 with a bad pitman arm balljoint and idler arm ball joint. Went to 3 different parts stores and every one had those parts except that the shank of the tapered pin was too short. So for a better description, my OEM parts has a tapered pin that is longer than any replacement...

Checked rear brake lines that came with kit and did not see any bulging of lines on hard brake application. Used dial calipers to measure before and after.

I meant to say in my reply that I will wait until warmer weather to recheck calipers and fine tune alignment if necessary. 30deg here.

    Rear disc conversion

Well, I did what I said I wasn't going to do and bent the bracket ears with a hammer. However, I've bent lots of metal with a hammer and this was going to take heat plus hammer. Rented oxy/act tanks and used cutting torch with carburizing flame to heat bend cherry red. Used adjustable parallel...

I see about the idea of using braid line. U want pedal travel to move caliper piston and not swell a brake line and move piston. Good idea.

    Rear disc conversion

Ok, took my wheels off and looked at caliper. On application, caliper tries to rotate in perpendicular to axle. Caliper piston also gets cocked in bore. Definitely not square with plane of rotor. Contacted Shawn at lugnut4x4 and he suggested I wack the bracket ears with a hammer to square it up...

    Rear disc conversion

I'm also thinking that the soft pedal issue is more of a long travel issue. Unnerving when making panic stop w/3000lb trl.

    Rear disc conversion

I can look at the brake centering issue tomorrow but in the meantime I think my soft pedal is more of a long travel issue. Unnerving when panic stopping with 3000lb trl. Did the owners of the other trucks happen to tell u what master cylinder they used?

    Rear disc conversion

No I didn't b/c lugnut4x4 says I don't have to. But in the back of my mind, I didn't understand how this could work b/c the disc calipers have much larger Pistons than the wheel cylinder Pistons. Those brakes have been bled many times by a shop that has the abs tool to do that. They are also the...

    Rear disc conversion

I did a rear disc brake conversion on my 2000 k2500 GMC. The kit I used came from a company named lugnut4x4. Has anyone here used these guys for this? I have soft pedal and dragging. Brakes were bled using abs tool many times by a shop I trust. Any help would be appreciated.

    Pro charger

Has anyone here ever installed a procharger kit on a 2000 k2500 7.4 4x4? Thinking about doing this and haven't found any vids or documentation on the procedure. Procharger website has generic pics and vids. It lists a kit for what I want to do but very little info. Thanks for the help.
