Will any 700r4 work in my 92 silverado?

i just acquired a 92 excab 4x4 silverado.. i think im going to look around and find a new trany and trans case all together to stick in the truck.. my question is will any 700r4 tranny work in my 92 or will it have to be like a 92-94.. because i know in my 89 i could only use a 89-91 only.. any help would be appreciated.

Mechanically, anything post 89 will work, but the plug for the wiring harness will be different.

so just rewire in a new plug on the wiring harness is all ill have to do?

A 93 & 94 will also have a 4L60E not a 700R4 just an FYI so you dont buy the wrong trans.
