'94 C2500LD 5.7/4L60E: looking for more power without going absolutely nuts. For example, there's an alleged 30K mile LS7 on local CL for $10K but it's missing the accessories. I think by the time I nickled and dimed everything together I coulda just bought a crate LS7 (or a whole new truck.) Nuts. 505HP would be sweet...but...nah.

So the 6.0 maybe? Which one? What donor vehicles to look at? "Gotchas" I need to look out for when searching?

Or?

my friend that runs the salvage yard near me buys the fleet vans from a school transport company the vans are the 25 and 3500 express models they have the 6.0's in them and he sells the engine and trans with all wiring and ecm's on a regular basis to guys either doing a swap or building a hot rod.I know up here in mass you can find the vans in the 2000 to 3k range and that should give you all you need to do a swap

Best bet imo is to buy a whole parts vehicle. Weather it be an LM7 or LQ4 just depends on what you want. Youll still have yo but additional parts but that gets you most of them

I bought my 5.3/4l60e from the junk yard, out of a 05 Silverado that got wrecked a few weeks prior.

Just make sure you get EVERYTHING you can if you get it from a junk yard or make sure nothings been picked off. Maf sensors, tac modules, starters etc add up to big bucks. If your paying big bucks for a motor or motor/trans combo then make sure your getting it all.
