Wheel Offset

So I measured my stock wheel offset and I got 4 inches. So when I'm looking at aftermarket wheels, is this a positive 4 inches or a negative 4 inches?

I measured the backside of the wheel. Had a straight edge across the rim and measured from the center of the rim where the holes are for the studs.

I never ordered rims online new before. i always bought used and was able to bolt them on before to see how they fit.
