You should back that pic out a little so we can get a perspective of where it is. It kinda looks like part of the EGR, maybe. There is probably a thin hard plastic hose that goes from there to the evaporative canister.

Side of the intake, that little hose looks correct. I remember taking that loose changing a spider injection unit on the vortec. Passenger side, mid ways up intake.

Well it is hooked up to the canister on the other side. This didn't have anything attached. No check engine light though.

It's just the vent for the purge solenoid. Nothing connects there.

Thanks guys. I guess I could checked my 98 to see if it was same but was rushing to get things together to go back to work.
