What is this?

Any clue on what this is? It's under the dash next to the fuse block. This was a commercial truck for about 15 years but I don't know what it was used for.

My best guess is it has something to do with a siren or flasher or something... it's circular shape reminds me of a distributor, so I would have to imagine there's something in there to pulsate an electrical signal (like switch something on and off at a given interval)...

Since all the wires going to it seem to be aftermarket (and cut), I would pull it out if I were you and see if there's any markings on the back indicating its purpose.

X2. Check to see where the wires go. If they lead to nowhere pull it off and google any writing you find on it.
