So I have a 98 gmc 1500 with the 5.7 350 and I am having starting problems, I have 52 psi when I checked the fuel pressure and I have spark because it started and revved to 3000 rpm then slowly died and won't start again. Could the tps be the problem? I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator then it started doing this and I have replaced the fuel filter. Have any suggestions?

With ignition on and engine off, the fuel pressure spec is 60-66 psi. It should hold for a few minutes after turning it off.

Your pressure sounds low. I would suspect a fuel pump issue. Do you hear the pump come on for a few seconds with ignition on/engine off?

With a scanner, the TPS voltage should be below 1.25V with no throttle and above 4V at wide open throttle.

Is the "security" light on the gauge cluster staying on or flashing?
