I posted this info in another thread but I think it deserves its own so I dont high jack it...
It's an article with one of GM's top engineers about truck aerodynamics. I was considering removing the front air dam or lower valance since it got damaged playing in the snow. I think I will keep it. It does direct air underneath away from the suspension and cavities as well as up and into the rad for more efficient cooling. I'm pretty sure that the gmt400 was the first truck in a wind tunnel but shes talking about the 2014 model being the most aerodynamic gm truck so far but it all applies to us. She also repels some myths such as the tailgate and how it interacts with wind drag. Believe it or not a tailgate that is closed is better than one that is open and far superior to a net. The net acts like a drift sock in water, severely harming aerodynamics as the air tries to go through and around it. Interesting.
