Ok but regardless I still need a new converter. Recommendations please. The lock up o ring probably went bad.

What brand/model is yours?? I'm definitely interested in a billet, and I've heard that a single disk can handle normal towing alright. Most any name brand torque converter should work. I have a billet single disk in the tahoe and so far it is working good. Was planning to get a triple disk billet for a heavy tow vehicle once motor gets changed out

I added a switch to mine which allows me to lock up the torque converter in any gear. Works great for towing in third gear.on mine with a 4L60 that's tuned to run in lockup much more than stock - it has been wide open throttle, 3300 rpm, locked up in 3rd for minutes at a time towing over some of the passes out west, multiple times a year. Don't spend money you don't need to spend, unless you just want to have fancy parts in there.
