Yes, I have done it, and it helped a lot, but the same advantages can be achieved by cutting the lip off of the 350 throttle blade. I have a small write up on the 454 TB swap on my build thread if you would like to look over at what I did to use the larger TB

throttle body has all ready had its lip cut off. I am interested in the write up you made please post link.

Heres the link to the page with the write up, but if the lip is already removed, the extra CFM will not gain anything on a stock to mild built 383. The stock 350 TB was rated at 700 CFM IIRC, and the 454 TB was rated at 775 CFM IIRC.
