tail gate latch

both trucks have issues with the tail gate latch sticking and needing to be fiddled with to get them open. What is the fix for this?

I pulled mine a couple months ago. bcause one side wouldn't latch and other side was getting the same way but when you pulled it. It felt like it was still pulling something so i figured nothing was broke. But got it out and it was froze up where it pivots to pull the rods for each side and was barely moving the rods just so i soaked it down with pb numerous times and after an hour it was freed up so greased it and put it back in now when you pull it theres no resistance likes its unhooked but works excellent

yeah... im wondering if there is new parts that work better or I just need to clean up what is in there

LMC, $70 bucks for a tailgate overhaul kit. New latches and everything.
