im looking for a 14 bolt 6 lug rear end for my truck because im going to put a l86 6.2. Ive been looking EVERYWHERE. Evening trying different key words in my search. I though i found one today but it turned out to be a 6 lug 10 bolt. Anyways, my main question is, when im looking for a rear end am i limited to 1988-1998 truck's rear ends or can a i look into a 2500 from 2000-up models? Would they bolt right in or should i keep looking for a 14 bolt 6 lug in the 1988-1998 models?

Try looking for a 14 bolt 5 lug that was in the 1990-1993 454 SS.

For a few years...

You might find one...

If you're very lucky and the planets align properly.

9” or Dana 60. 9” can still be had pretty cheap, Dana 60 will be pretty much custom built. Either will take more abuse than any factory engine puts out.
