Strange Electrical Issue

I'm having this weird electrical problem.
Whenever my key is in the off or lock position, the gear indicator and tail stop lights function normally. However whenever I turn the key to the On position or start the truck, neither work.
Just wondering what I should start looking at to solve the problem.
