Hey fellas. I know lots of ya have\had problems with the steering wheel play cos of worn out rubber on the steering shaft. XJ replacement is a good way to solve it, but.... From a dealer program i found that 2WD OBS had steering shaft lwith the joint, not the rubber damper. And i wonder if anybody had some experience with it? Maybe someone already tried to use it and had good\bad luck?
2 WD shaft looks like this:

Also my a friend of mine did the same mod with his 96 Impala, but he took WJ's shaft. And it's plug and go, no need to weld it.

That looks like the gmt800 shaft to me. I had to put one on our burb because of the infamous clunking.

I don't think that will work on a 400, the column end isn't right...

X2. I've installed millions of these. It's a gmt800 shaft or an 06 and up impala shaft.
