i went and got a quote at my local shop earlier and 400 in labor not including parts. not bad considering people are charging 1600

you can press the control arm bushings out with a 6" bench vise and some large sockets. takes about 1 minute once you get the control arms off. i bought a ball joint press from harbor freight and bent the **** outta it quick, had to rent/borrow one from the local auto parts store to finish. all in all, anyone can do this at home with a jack, jack stands and a few hand tools.
