Spare Tire Bed Well

Hello - Don't know if this has been posted before - How feasible is this mod for our GMT400 pickups?

Anyone see this before or attempt a similar mod?

Specifically I was looking at the passenger front corner of the bed due to the gas tank location
on the driver side. I keep the spare in the bed anyway because of how dirty and cruudy the
spare wheel and tire get underneath the truck.

As long as there's nothing there I don't see why not. Although you should come up with some sort of lock so it doesn't walk away.

That would be a cool idea, but not sure if there is enough room between the bed side and the frame. The well part that drops down might contact the frame.

What if you had it in the very front of the bed, turned sideways (basically where a toolbox would be). Unless there is a crossmember there, I would think it would fit between the frame rails.
