yes long tubes require cutting and more fab work.

You also need to look for the ones like I got from ebay they bolt directly to the y-pipe and have a ball end, the flat flange type with gasket on bottom requires modifications as well. Mine required nothing, direct bolt in, they were stainless steel, came with hardware and gaskets, won't rust being stainless and cost $122 shipped to the door, now they are cheaper.

I was going to get flowtech headers an their y pipe just to keep everything the same product type an so there would work together, looks really dosen't matter because i'm going to wrap them in d.e.i. exhaust wrap then to a flowmaster super 10 series then to a side exit before the rear wheel well.

be careful with the wrap on those exhaust parts. Just going to speed up the process of rusting if they are not ceramic coated or stainless. And if you are going to run an aftermarket Y pipe just get longtubes.

exactly if you are changing the y-pipe do long tubes, alot more benefits from it.

exhaust wrap voids the header warranty so if you want them to last buy some stainless or ceramic, I honestly don't see why you'd want to use it. I've had numerous vehicles with headers and no wrap, never a problem. if you want something to bolt to stock y-pipe look into the cheap ebay ones I bought, they are stainless and cost the same or less then flowtechs, last I seen flowtechs are $130 I got my stainless ones shipped for $122 and they are cheaper now.

Thanks for the heads up on the headers did not know that but now that I do I will be going with either ceramic or stainless....Now going with long tubes I would have to get a custom y-pipe made correct because the flowtech one from summitracing bolt right up to shorties I believe but correct me if i'm wrong.....

that's the thread I Made when I bought them. You can see how they looked outta the box, bolted up, and after a week or so of driving, they look exactly the same today, and it's been 4-6 months or so, i forget when I put them on. I have no y-pipe, just duals, it was factory y pipe that somebody cut the y out and used the upper parts to bolt to stock manifolds, so they bolted right in place of my manifolds.
