I seem to always ask the hard questions, but I believe in miracles.........

96 and 97 K1500's ESCSB Two door, with 60/40 split front seats.

Let's see if I can describe this without using my hands.
The passenger seat slides forward with the lever on the side of the seat back. In the front bottom of the seat there is another lever that allows the seat to slide further forward, and it operates on a different, lower track then the first. The lower doesn't work on BOTH trucks (sheesh). I believe it is wires or cables that have broke, but all seem to be missing. For the life of me I can't visualize how that front lever works in conjunction with a another lever that is currently doing nothing, that in turn actuates the lever that unlocks the seat from that lower track.

I think there has to be two wires/cables, from the lever that a person pulls to one side to a lever on the right side under the seat, and from that lever another wire to the lever that actually engages the lower track.

Have I lost everybody yet?

The question is can anybody stuff their phone under the seat and take some pics, showing how the lower track is operated with the lever?

Yes, there is a wire that releases the inner side, or maybe it's both sides. As for taking a pic, well it's almost 10:00 PM here, so maybe I can get you a pic tomorrow after work. I have a seat in my shed in the backyard. I could turn it over and get a pic of it. This should show everything.

I replaced my 60-40 bench with a set of bucket seats out of a 95 Tahoe that I found at a swap meet. My driver's side is now power. The passengers side, well, I used the OE seat bottom but swapped out the bottom. Hummmm, now that I think about that, I will need to get you a pic of the seat that is in my truck. The passengers bottom is the OE. So I will get you a pic of that tomorrow. I used the OE, because the Tahoe passengers side didn't slide forward to access the back seat. My OE does, so that is why I used it. Just had the swap the seat back for it to match the drivers side.

Now that I am looking at my pics, it's jogging my memory. I had to take the top handle off of my OE seat, and install it on the Tahoe seat. There is a cable that the handle pulls. There is only 1 bolt holding the seat back on. The other side slips into a pin. I found some videos on you tube that showed how to take the seat apart.

More pics. In the last pic, you can see the cable that runs back to the handle on the seat back to release the seat so it can slide forward.

I think, these 2 pics are the release mechanism that allows the seat to be slid once the cable pulls on it.

This pic has the Trac that allows the seat bottom to be adjusted forward and backwards. It has a rod that runs to the other side, and pulls the locking mechanism out of an identical track on the other side.
