i have a 1997 1500 6.5l diesel suburban and i am looking for an ifs lift . my problem is all of the 1500 lifts are for 6 lug only and the diesel is an 8 lug. i was wondering if the lift made for the 2500 8 lug would be able to work on my truck? sorry if this is a stupid question im just getting desperate here!!!

I can’t remember where I read this but the 1500 suburbans with the diesel engines are 8-lug. I have also seen pictures of one just like that on kijiji.

Edit: It was on the wiki page under the obs section in the second paragraph.

I did do some searching and apparently the diesel 1/2 ton suburbans were 8 lug. I have no idea if it has the same front dif and all but it does have the same rear axle. Didn't find out if the 8 lug lift works or not.

1500 diesel burbs have 8 lugs, the front diff is the 9.25in like all 8 lug trucks, the rear is the 9.5in semi floater used in most 3/4 ton gas trucks, 2500 burbs got the 10.5 14bff.

If what this guy says is true then you would buy the 8 lug lift for a 2500.
