I'm gonna be doing some front end work on my friends truck and in exchange he's giving my a 1991 k3500 RCLB with a 454. Only problem with the 454 is that it has a cracked block. I'd love to put another 454 in it but the only used ones I can have 200k or more miles on them. I have a extra 350 that I'm thinking about swapping in. I just want to know if the 350 will bolt in place of the 454. Will I need to change motor mounts? Will the 4L80 work with the 350? If the tranny works will I need to get a different torque converter? Can I use the 454 tbi on the 350?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes you'll need a 350 torque converter, and yes everything will bolt in trans and motor mounts. Not positive on the y pipe though.

You have to modify the intake to fit a 454 throttle body. That or an aftermarket with an adapter. A stock 350 isn't going to run right with the 454 tbi.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully all I'll need to buy is a torque converter. Y-pipe wont be a problems since I have headers I could use and then just straight pipe it. I like fuel injection but I'll probably use a carburetor to keep it cheap and simple, lucky we dont have emission testing here in Alaska.

200K on a 454 aint bad...lol. I had 251K on my 97 K3500 Dually, it had spent its life heavy hauling and was all original, and it didnt smoke, knock, use oil, or leak. Personally...Id find as low a miles 454 and drop it in, the power difference is amazing. Fuel consumption...is a bit more, but that truck has no OD...so economy is going ot suck with any engine..
