p1870 trouble code what could this mean???

today I received my ultra gauge and installed it after messing with it for a while and driving around I came home and checked my trouble codes.. I got a few I already knew about and a few I didn't and the one thing I was hoping to see when I ran the codes were trans troubles and I got the p1870 code. im just not sure what it means and other then something with trans slippage. is that basically it ??? what are potential causes and can you fix this code without R&R

any help/ input is greatly appreciated

You need this http://www.rhino-transmission-parts.com/4l60e-problem-solvers/. Just pull the valve body and install the tec pak valve.

can you do this while the trans is still in the truck? is there anything I could do that would completely screw my trany while doing this ?

Yeah, you can do it without pulling the transmission. Just drop the pan, then the valve body. It will cause the converter clutch to burn up if you don't address it.
