Oil Leak - Need Advice

Oven cleaner....really? Never thought of this.

All it is, is degreaser, you could use Greased Lightning, simple green, Brakeleen... anything that removes grease.

So do you need to run the engine for heat or will it work on a cool engine also (oven cleaner)?

Do it on a cool or at least warm to touch engine, a hot one will evaporate anything wet that touches it. Like spitting on the top of a woodstove. You just want to remove residual oil on the engine so you can pin point the leak.
