finally was able to get into the engine, and its worse than i anticipated

Not a whole lot to report, I've been working for a local farmer/rancher for little or nothing (way below minimum wage, but it pays the bills for now) I bought a used 4.3 in Enid, Oklahoma and then tore my PCL riding a bull on September 1st... So I put the engine in my truck with a torn PCL by myself. As of now it's just running and driving... I've done some menial stuff here and there like fix some fuel lines that chafed and started leaking, new pitman arm, etc...
