This here is my first truck, and perhaps my first true love. Shes been good to me, and in return, I'm good to her. I don't try to dress her up too fancy, I just let her be who she is. Pretty sure I'm gonna run her till the day she dies or until she needs to go to an old folks home (local auto yard). I never really thought of taking pictures throughout my process of turning it from a grandma and grandpa camper hauler to a unique highschooler's first pickem up truck, so they ain't in any special order, nor are they all there.

Spec List as of Dec. 2012
1997 Chevrolet Silverado K1500, 5.7L Vortec, ECSB (2-door), Z71
Interior: JVC Headunit, Pioneer Component front, Kicker 4x6's rear, Diamond Audio 2x100w, two Kicker 3-way 6x9's boxed, Uniden PRO520XL, Shelf-It Overhead Console w/ custom LED map lights, subtle interior LEDs
Exterior: Husky Diamond-plated Toolbox (Spring, Summer, Fall), Century Royal Topper (Winter), Cooper A/T3's LT265/75R,
Mods: 6x9's on 12ft of wire able to be ran to the bed to play music for bonfires, DRL heatsink removed, Rocker Panels Herculined, Red LEDs on rear mudflaps

Just a heads up: If you do decide to read through this whole thread, please take note that a lot of my posts are spontaneous ideas and may not necessarily come to life. While this is a build thread, I have allowed the public to post on it to aid me in obtaining my ideas or complimenting them. If you're looking for what I have actually done to my truck, you are gonna have to look a little bit and filter through the other garbage. Thanks and enjoy!

First plan I had for her. To be the most crucial automobile at all the Senior year bonfires. First, took off the topper and got a tool box (topper is back on for winter.) Then, the music began! 108811[/ATTACH]"]

Keep an eye out on craigslist for some big home theatre speakers with some 12-15" woofers. Then use those and it will be nice and loud. Then get bluetooth.

See, the thing I like about it is that I can take them in and out of my cab whenever I like and people can sit in the backseat with em in too. I know someone who used them big ol' home theatre "towers" with a tweeter, midrange, and sub once. Sure it was loud (obnoxious actually), but I like SQ over loudness. Tis why that person took them out of his bed. Plus these puppies put out plenty enough for my taste (bluegrass, country). 100 watts per speaker, and I don't even have the volume 3/4 full during a fire. I've used em for bonfires, cookouts, even wired my CB to it and used it as a PA system once. Pretty nifty to have when doing work on my truck too. Cept when its audio system work.

These here are my rocker panels. This summer my buddy helped me do some body work and sanded down the rockers, plus he fiberglassed under what one might call the "3rd door" (cept i dont have that option) and he did a damn good job. We rattle-can bed-linered (Rustoleum) my rockers and that looked great! Cept it started rusting through again. So this november my artistic cousin helped me Herculine my rockers (bought 3 quarts, probably used 1 1/2 on the rockers. two coats. first dabbed on, second rolled on) and he painted the Z71 stickers flat black. The rest of the Herculiner was put wherever we could find room (hitch receiver, rear wheel wells, skid plates... etc.) Plus we painted my door sills cause those were starting to peel and chip.

Posted this a few places on GMT-400 forums but this is my build so I'll post em again. Saw LED mudflaps on a website and figured I could make some better. And I did. The one thing that allows my friends to know for a fact that they just passed me, my LED mudflaps.

My hidden switch panel. Granted if you're not me you have to bend over backwards to see them and figure out which one is which. Shouldn't run outta room anytime soon.

I did the same thing with my bass volume knob. So when family and friends borrow my truck I can turn it all the way down and they don't fry my subs doing dumb crap.
